Michael James Hillman (American, b.1988) is a visual artist whose work explores the complexities and psychology of memory, space, and our relationship to the natural world.
Inspired by his mother's stories of her years working as a Pan Am stewardess in the late 1960's and early 1970's, Michael's early imagination created a dynamic contrast amongst his suburban childhood experience in Orange County, California.
During his time studying and working at the University of Arizona, his love for photography came naturally. Photographs eventually became a more appropriate and suitable form of communication to disseminate ideas that words had a hard time doing. Whether they're landscapes or pictures of people in landscapes, Michael's pictures are windows to moments of sublime happenstance and the possibility of that something else...
Michael lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
